It is about 18 km from Mullingar and near to the M6, which heads towards Galway or Dublin.

Midder's House is an 1850s country mansion built in a Georgian style on a grand scale. The house covers over 30,000 square feet with 17 foot ceiling heights on the ground floor, ornate plasterwork and a feature grand hall with a spectacular bifurcating, cantilevered staircase. It also boasts a vaulted limestone basement and one of few conservatories in Ireland by the acclaimed Richard Turner.

Midder's was built as the lavish centre of a large equestrian estate and played a a key role in the Irish hunting and breeding scene until the late 20th century. It was most recently a popular wedding venue, following which it has undergone extensive restoration to make a grand country home.

The house is in the village of Castletown Geoghegan, County Westmeath, in the heart of Ireland. The surrounding area is a thriving but peaceful and secure farming and equestrian region, with easy access to Dublin, Dublin airport being an hour’s drive away.

The main house comprises grand reception rooms and four bedroom suites, while the adjoining wing contains twelve ensuite guest bedrooms. It is now used as a home for its owners and guests and is available for hire for private functions and short stays for up to 24 people.
