Property Overview
Overlooking the Firth of Tay, Dundee Castle is the home of the Earls of Dundee, the Royal Standard Bearers of Scotland. Set within 1,000 acres of stunning farm and woodland. Secluded paths meander from the tennis court, walled garden, and outdoor heated swimming pool down to the private beach and barbeque on the shore of the river Tay.
With towering ancient trees, red squirrels, otters, seals and even the occasional giant sea-eagle soaring overhead, every walk and every day at Dundee Castle offer something new and different.
Dundee Castle is friendly, welcoming and warm with heated rooms throughout.
Accommodation
The castle has 10 double bedrooms, 2 singles and a nursery bedroom for up to 6 children. Most bedrooms come with their own private bathroom and widespread views of the Fife-shire countryside and the river Tay estuary.
Every bedroom at Dundee Castle has wonderful views, central heating, 500 thread-count Egyptian cotton linen, fluffy towels and bathrobes, hair dryers, and Essence of Harris soaps and hand lotions.
Location
Dundee Castle is in northeast Fife, thus well situated from there to explore both the Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland. Only an hour’s drive from the historic and beautiful city of Edinburgh and under an hour from several world class golf courses, including Carnoustie and the Old Course at St Andrews. The area is also home to some of Scotland’s finest beaches, nature and sea-bird habitats.
Visit the city of Dundee’s impressive Victoria and Albert Museum of Scottish design; or climb aboard RRS Discovery to learn about the expedition of this barque-rigged auxiliary steamship, which took Scott and Shackleton to Antarctica in 1901.
