Location
North of Royal Deeside is the lesser known hidden gem, the Don Valley, Aberdeen's second river. A historian and archaeologist's dream, littered with castles and stone circles, the location of Manar just outside of the traditional Scottish farming town of Inverurie on the River Don has all the outdoor and indoor activities you could wish for. Whether it's river fishing, clay pigeon shooting, hill walks, cold water dipping in natural ponds, or traditional Scottish fare from local family restaurants to coastal walks to spot the native seals, you are perfectly positioned to explore all of the wonderful sights Aberdeenshire has to offer. Not looking to venture far, Manar has resident Highland Cows and Ponies, an ancient woodland, the option for onsight yoga, meditation and mindfulness activities as well as wonderful walks straight from the front door. Wander down to the river Don, venture across to the Dalmadilly ponds with a picnic and if you feel brave take a cold water dip, you can always borrow one of our inhouse dry robes! Be sure to visit the local farm shops and stock up on delicious seasonal treats. If alfresco dining is your thing, why not enjoy the outdoor kitchen and terrace with panoramic views of the Don, you can always add wood fired dishes or a Traditional Neapolitan pizza evening to your stay.
