Kilcrea House is a lovingly restored elegant 18th century, Italianate style, Irish manor set in 12 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens, overlooking the medieval Castle and Abbey of Kilcrea, in County Cork. The house is spacious and bright and beautifully decorated and it is set in 12 acres of mature beech woodland and landscaped gardens.
Accommodation
The main house features four bedrooms all with king size or four-poster beds and large en-suite bathrooms, wonderful views and elegant Edwardian furniture. Every room in the main house has one window facing south and another one facing in a different direction. As a result, the rooms have a very warm and bright atmosphere. The interior is decorated thoughtfully, and you are surrounded by beauty at every turn.
Location
Cork City is Ireland's second city and has always been an important seaport. It began on an island in the swampy estuary of the River Lee and gradually climbed up the steep banks on either side. Today the river flows through Cork city in two main channels so that you find yourself constantly crossing bridges and hence Cork City's coat of arms bears the motto 'A Safe Harbour for Ships'.
South of Cork city you will find the picturesque seaside town of Kinsale. Its colourful buildings, beautiful location, mild climate and abundance of excellent restaurants, cafes and bars make it a must-visit destination on any trip to the south of the country. The many top-end, quality restaurants in the town means that it is known as the ‘gourmet capital of Ireland’ and it even has its own Gourmet Food Festival. Of course, in order to win over the locals, always order a pint of Murphy’s over Guinness. That’s the quickest way into any Southern Ireland persons heart.
