Property Overview

Laune Estate is a beautiful 18th century house set in 40 acres of woodland overlooking a river. In about 1760 the present house was built by a Dingle family. Rather than demolishing the remaining three walls of the castle they used them to form the hallway of the new house, making our hallway probably the oldest inhabited space in Kerry. The interior was altered in 1840 and the chimneypieces and plasterwork date from this time. The house has been totally refurbished in recent years.

Accommodation

Laune Estate offers luxurious accommodation for 8 people in four double or twin en suite rooms. There is formal dining room, drawing room, the open fire guarded by the fire pigs, a comfortable library with satellite television, and a fully equipped guest kitchen and full central heating, as well as open fires in the reception rooms.

The Courtyard Cottages were converted from the 18th ct stone courtyard buildings. They have been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. All the bedrooms have Egyptian Cotton bed linen and can be kingsize double or twin bedded and all have en suite bathrooms. All the cottages have fully equipped kitchens with double ovens, microwaves and dishwashers and utility rooms with washing machines. A gas clothes drier is shared by the cottages.

The sitting rooms are equipped with flat screen satellite televisions, DVD and CD players and an open fire. Each cottage has a patio with teak garden furniture and barbecue. All the cottages have wireless internet access.

Location

Experience County Kerry and its gloriously moody landscapes, dramatic headlands and crashing waves. Known the world over for its rugged natural beauty, artistic culture and warm hospitality, Kerry provides a place for heritage and innovation, families and adventurers, diversity and connection to thrive.
