Property Overview
Surrounded by beautiful parkland and with stunning views of the Trossachs, Redwood Tree is situated in the heart of Scotland. The original Georgian House stands in the grounds of an old monastic sanctuary said to be linked to Inchmahome Priory on the island Inchmahome in the nearby Lake of Menteith. The giant yew tree on the property was planted by the Augustinian Canons that lived here nearly 800 years ago. The tree is listed in John Lowe's book "The Yew Trees of Great Britain and Ireland" published in 1897.
The mansion and its gardens serve as a heavenly escape from city life as an enjoyable and quiet place for families of all ages. Redwood Tree has a striking exterior, with an extremely comfortable and stylish interior. Each room is filled with luxurious furnishings, and has plenty of light and space.
Accommodation
Offering 7 bedrooms and sleeping 14 guests, the interior of the country house is a spectacular mix of traditional and contemporary. With bold wallpapers and modern light fittings, contrasting with the stunning plaster work, cornices, and elegant high arched corridors.
Guests staying at the house are provided with a range of indoor and outdoor activities. For a more relaxed stay, guests can enjoy by the log fire in the cosy library surrounded by leather-bound books and stocked with board games. Those looking for some friendly competition can take themselves to the games room to play table tennis or enjoy a game of darts.
Guests enjoy four acres of magnificent gardens. The Victorian Walled Garden is a wonderful place to enjoy a picnic or a barbecue with outdoor dining for 14 guests and soft seating covered by an oak gazebo alongside a hot tub, shower and outdoor kitchen.
After working up an appetite exploring what the house and gardens have to offer, guests can feast around the large Victorian dining room table which comfortably seats 14 people in an atmosphere of bygone splendour. Redwood Tree is self-catered, however a chef can be arranged on request.
